More Binder Stuff - Clarinet (freebies)
Ya would think I'd have TONS of clarinet handouts as a clarinetist, but honestly I did not have very many in electronic format.
Here are some of the handouts I do have on my computer.
First, here is the Selmer's Teacher Guide to Clarinet by the late Nilo Hovey.
Here is a sheet on clarinet care.
Paula Corley has some great stuff on her website (www.clarinetcity.com). Here are some of her handouts (most are for you to read as a teacher, not to hand out to the kiddos). Many are from clinics she's done (TMEA, Midwest, ICA).
Here is her handout on Breaking Bad Clarinet Sounds: when good players do the wrong things.
Here is her article Clarinet Emergency Room: Solving Performance Problems in Your Clarinet Section.
Here is her Middle School Masterclass Clinic Handout.
From the same conference, here is her handout titled Turbocharge Your Practice: A high performance practice routine for the aspiring clarinetist.
And here is one about solving performance problems in the clarinet section.
The last Paula Corley article I'll share with you contains tips on teaching clarinet more effectively.
Here is a handout to give to your students about reeds.
Here is an article about crossing the "break" (I actually don't like to say break - I say bridge). Again, this is for you, not your students.
Here is a fingering chart.
Here is a worksheet to help your students practice notes below the staff (drawing them on the staff and coloring in the fingerings).
Here is the Clarinet Concept Sheet Page 1 (Daily Drill exercises to play with the full band).
Page 2
And here is the Clarinet Daily Drills sheet (for clarinet sectionals).
I hope these handouts are helpful to you. Tomorrow's post will include handouts for Saxophone.
